TectoPower contributes to the future of maritime traffic - delivers foundation for fast charging of the world's fastest electric ferry

Next week, Västtrafik will begin tests of Candela P-12, the world's fastest electric passenger ferry, between Stenpiren and Öckerö. TectoPower has delivered the steel foundation that enables the installation of the Siemens fast charger on Lindholmspiren.

The project marks an important step in the electrification of maritime traffic in the Gothenburg archipelago. The charging point has been developed in collaboration between Styrsöbolaget, Siemens, Cheap Charge and TectoPower. It enables the ferry to quickly get the energy it needs to "fly" forward - quietly, efficiently and completely without emissions.

For TectoPower, this is a natural development. The company has long experience of building foundations for the green transition on Sweden's roads, where 40 % of all fast chargers are mounted on steel foundations from TectoPower. Now it is taking the next step and stepping on board the electrification of maritime traffic.

We are proud to be part of this pioneering project. It shows that our Swedish-made products can contribute to sustainable infrastructure both on the road and at sea, says Kristin Boissonneau-Gren, Marketing and Communications Manager at TectoPower.

Candela P-12 is an electrically powered hydrofoil that, thanks to its unique design, lifts above the water surface, thereby reducing energy consumption by up to 80 per cent compared to traditional vessels.
