From idea to reality: TectoPower in a joint CSR project for schooling and safety in Zambia

In Kakoma, a small village in north-west Zambia, more than 100 girls live in a shelter to attend school. Distances are long and the road home is unsafe - so electricity, lighting and a functioning kitchen are crucial to their daily lives.

Behind the project is Söderslättsgymnasiet's construction programme, together with Zasp and SSG. It's their initiative, their commitment and their work that are driving the project forward. We at TectoPower have been given the opportunity to be part of this - by contributing with a complete assembly system for 40 solar panels, which we transport directly to Kakoma.

Together with other partners, such as Senergia and Gosol, we have created a solution that enables electricity for both commercial kitchens and lighting - a tangible improvement in the living conditions of the children on site.

This project is an example of what happens when different competences, resources and wills come together. Because we know - no one can do everything, but everyone can do something. And it is precisely in collaboration that real change happens.

We are not on the ground in Kakoma. But we are following the project, sharing the stories and making sure to highlight it in our channels. To inspire, inform - and show that technology can also carry warmth, care and faith in the future.

"It's not about business - it's about responsibility. And about being part of building something bigger than ourselves."
